What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a comprehensive, whole-body approach to healthcare that considers how your body is responding to your current diet, lifestyle, and environment. It’s evidence-based, clinically grounded, and designed to work with your GP and medical specialists not in place of them.

​Naturopathy doesn’t wait for a diagnosis to take action. We’re the support at the top of the cliff—not the ambulance waiting at the bottom. Instead of focusing only on whether your pathology results fall within the “normal” range, we assess whether they fall within the optimal range where real wellness lives. Because normal doesn’t always mean well.  When you feel off even when your blood tests come back “normal”? ​​That is your body whispering for help before it starts shouting. Let's be proactive and help your body heal itself.

Symptoms like persistent fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues (bloating, reflux, constipation), hormonal imbalances (irregular cycles, PMS, acne), anxiety, low mood, insomnia, headaches, joint pain, unexplained weight changes, or skin conditions like eczema and rosacea are often your body’s early warning signs even when blood tests say everything is “fine.”

Your body is wise. When it speaks, even in subtle symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, bloating, anxiety is when we listen.

​What to expect in your initial consultation

Kirstin will take a deep dive into your health history, assessing each body system while exploring factors like nutrition, stress, sleep quality, lifestyle habits, and environmental exposures. This holistic lens allows her to understand the why behind your symptoms—not just the what.

Prior to your consult, please send through:
  • Recent Blood test results
  • Medical documentation relevant to your visit
  • A list of medications / Supplements and dosages taken
  • A list of supplements you have at home
  • If you haven't already, please start recording symptoms in the iPhone health app as you experience them or keep a list of dates and times.
  • Keep a list for a week of times you are eating/drinking, what your eating/drinking including serving size 
  • Check your health insurance cover - You might be covered by Southern Cross Health, NIB, and Acuro Insurance for consults.​

​Following your consultation Kirstin will use her clinical expertise to review your case and design a comprehensive wellness plan that's not only effective but also realistic and achievable for you. This may recommend functional pathology testing, practitioner grade supplements, a liquid herbal remedy, massage, dietary, lifestyle advice or professional referrals.

​Testing Available

Depending on your case, relevant testing may be recommended:
In Clinic testing could be vitals & physical examination utilising a Stethoscope with audio recording ability, Otoscope, Blood Pressure monitor, Pulse Oximeter, Penlight, Tuning forks, Reflex hammer, Thermometer, Tape measure, Scales or Zinc Mineral Test​

External testing which will incur an additional fee:
  • Referral for Pathology & functional testing (the path lab will charge for this).
  • ​Dutch test; a Comprehensive hormonal health profile.
  • Hair Analysis; Food + Environmental intolerance.
  • Further resources are available depending on your needs and budget.

​Kirstin is currently upskilling and will bring an other tool into practice late 2025. Make sure your following on socials to keep up to date with all the cool things in the pipeline! This one has been a goal since completing naturopathy training in 2012.

​Ongoing support that evolves with you

Progress sessions are booked as required with the first booked four weeks into the plan. They are a vital part of your healing journey and help you keep moving forward. It's important to review and adapt your care as your body responds, and provide continuous support. You deserve to feel just how incredible your body is capable of feeling and I'm here to support you along the way.

​Practitioner Background

Kirstin Anderson, BHSc(CompMed), dipNat, dipHerbMed, dipPIB

Kirstin’s journey has been a blend of passion and practicality working in the agricultural sector and Naturopathic clinical practice.

She grew up in a health conscious household, crafted her own health products, and in 2005 her passion to become a Naturopath was fuelled by attending naturopathic seminars in Auckland and Tauranga. This lead her to graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine from Charles Sturt University in Australia, alongside diplomas in Naturopathy and Medical Herbalism from the South Pacific College of Natural Medicine in New Zealand. Kirstin's education deepened her understanding of the human body's incredible capacity for healing, the pathway of illness, and the power of natural medicine to improve quality of life.
Since then, she has had clinical practices in the Waikato and Central Hawkes Bay. She has used her skills in herbal medicine to support Racehorses with career highlights and a foal to overcome Strangles. In recent years, she has had a hiatus, working in the Dairy Industry as an Agricultural Training Advisor for PrimaryITO, helping to empower local farmers with the knowledge and skills to thrive in industry.

​Now, Kirstin seamlessly integrates her love for farming with her dedication to holistic health working alongside her partner in their agribusiness ventures and is back in 2025 kicking off working 3 days a week in her Naturopathic clinical practice.
